Museum of Ethnology
(Ethnologisches Museum)

With over 500,000 artefacts from all over the world and large collections of sound recordings, photographs and films, the Museum of Ethnology is one of the biggest and most important of its kind. It is devoted above all to the collection, preservation and study of the cultural artefacts of pre-industrial societies, especially those outside Europe.

Museum of AsianArt
(Museum für Asiatische Kunst)

Since December 2006, the "Museum of east Asian Art" and the "Museum of Indian Art" are united to a "Museum of Asian Art", at which now they are departments.
The former Museum of Indian Art displays arts and crafts from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tibet, India, South-East Asia and Central Asia, dating from the second century BC to the present. The former Museum of East Asian Art presents a comprehensive survey of the whole spectrum of East Asian Art from the New Stone Age to the present day.
